Elissa Hamlat, 2017-2019. Elissa is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the “Psychology and Medicine: Translational Research on Stress, Behavior and Disease” program at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). She is enhancing her expertise in theoretical and biological approaches to studying stress. She remains focused on puberty as a developmental period of high risk for poor physical and mental health outcomes, particularly those associated with recurrent depression. Elissa received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and M.A. in Psychology from Temple University and a B.A. in Cognitive Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Chris Crawford, M.S. in Psychological Science, Class of 2020. Chris is currently pursuing a PhD in Social-Personality Psychology at UC Berkeley.
Kathleen McCormick, Project Coordinator, 2018-2020. Kathleen is currently pursuing a PhD in Developmental Psychology at Cornell University.
Fatema Jivanjee, Project Coordinator, 2016-2019. Fatema is currently pursuing a Master’s of Social Work at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. For her clinical internship, she will be leading group therapies at Monte Nido, an eating disorder treatment center, in New York City.
Anna Questel, Class of 2022. Anna is a junior majoring in Clinical/Community Psychology and minoring in Spanish.
Haley Hunzicker, Class of 2021. Haley is a senior studying Clinical/Community Psychology and English.
Christopher McKittrick, Class of 2020. Christopher graduated with a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and a minor in Chemistry. He is currently interested in pursuing either internal medicine or family medicine.
Jacqueline Lee, Class of 2020. Jacqueline is a senior studying Clinical/Community Psychology.
Vivian Li, Class of 2019. Vivian graduated with a double major in Psychology and Integrative Biology Honors. She is currently an M.S. student in Clinical Psychological Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Jennifer Stenger. Jennifer is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in psychology. In addition to working toward her degree, she is also a crisis counselor, assisting adolescents and adults in identifying coping skills and support networkss.
Rachna Karumuri, Class of 2019. Rachna graduated on the pre-med track and is interested in becoming a neonatologist or a pediatrician.
Jordan Marganski, Class of 2018. Jordan is currently attending the University of California San Diego School of Medicine.
Daniel Pien, Class of 2018. Daniel is currently pursuing his M.S. in School Counseling at Eastern Illinois University. He anticipates working with middle school or high school students after graduation in 2020.
Samantha Sanders, Class of 2018. Samantha is obtaining her Master’s of Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. For her clinical internship, she will be working in the adolescent partial hospitalization program at AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Behavioral Health in Hoffman Estates, IL. Her drive to work with adolescent populations stemmed from the invaluable knowledge and experience she gained from working in Dr. Hankin’s lab.
Marisa Allen, Class of 2018. Marisa is currently completing a graduate entry Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She later plans to pursue a clinical doctorate program to become a nurse practitioner, with an interest in specializing in pediatric, neonatal, or psychiatric nursing. Marisa’s experience in Dr. Hankin’s lab has taught her the importance of providing holistic care to patients which attends to both the physical and psychological needs of the individual.
Anna Reynish, Class of 2018. Anna would like to pursue a master’s degree and/or a Psy.D. in Clinical Counseling Psychology and would like to eventually work in a school setting with either middle school or high-school aged children.
Brenda Le, Class of 2017. Brenda is currently working as a certified medical assistant at Carle Orthopedics and Sports Medicine in Champaign, Illinois. She plans to continue her education in medical school to become a physician.
